Step in the Ring

Happy New Year! It’s very nearly 2008, and somewhere in between the sips of champagne and the choruses of Auld Lang Syne, you can’t help but squeeze in some reflection. So we’re going with a topic rather open to interpretation to celebrate the thoughtfulness of the holiday:

2008 vs. 1908

Were we better off 100 years ago or are we better off now? Sure, there’ve been some great advances, like modern medicine and the Internet that makes this site possible, but there’ve been some dicey developments too, like nuclear warfare and the rise of terrorism. Was life happier when it was simpler, or has technology freed our time for more enjoyable pursuits? Are you pleased living in present-day or do you feel you’d fit better in the world of a century ago?

Get creative, choose unique angles, and be compelling as you tell us why 2008 or 1908 is better and really make us think. After all, we need something to do once the ball’s dropped.
