Democrat vs. Republican
For obvious reasons the 2008 U.S. Presidential election is on our minds. And though the U.S. allows for multiple parties on the ballot, the two biggies are always clear. So here’s your latest challenge…
Democrat vs. Republican
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’re the parties with the most impact. Which one is right? Which one is wrong? Which one are you?
Whatever you have to say from whatever angle, choose one and tell us all about it. It’ll feel good to get it off your chest.

[…] Democrat vs. Republican […]

I had a dream the other night I didn’t understand
A figure walking through the mist with flintlock in his hand
his clothes were torn and dirty as he stood there by my bed
he took off his three-cornered hat and speaking low he said
We fought a revolution to secure our liberty
we wrote this constitution as shield from tyranny
for future generations this legacy we gave
in this the land of the free and the home of the brave?!?!?
This freedom we secured you we hoped you’d always keep
but tyrants labored endlessly while your parents were asleep
your freedom gone your courage lost you’re no more than a slave
In this the land of the free and the home of the brave?!?!?
You buy permits to travel, permits to own a guy
permits to start a business or to build a home for one
on land that you beleive you own you pay a yearly rent
Although you have no voice in choosing how the money’s spent.
Your children must attend a school that doesn’t educate
your christian values can’t be taught according to the state
You read about the current news in a regulated press
and pay a tax you do not owe to please the IRS.
Your money is no longer made of silver or of gold
you trade your wealth for paper so your life can be controlled
You pay for crimes that make our nation turn from God in shame
You’ve taken Satan’s number as you’ve traded in you name
Your public servants don’t uphold the solemn oathes they’ve sworn
your daughters visit doctors so their children won’t be born
Your leaders ship artillery and guns to foreign shores
and send your sons to slaughter fighting other peoples wars.
Can you regain the freedom for which I’ve fought and died?
Or don’t you have the courage or the faith to stand with pride
are there no more values for which you’ll fight to save
or do you wish your children to live in fear and be a slave!?!?
People of the Republic arise and take a stand!
Defend the Constitution the supreme law of the land
preserve this great republic and each God-given right
And pray to God to keep the torch of freedom burning bright!
As I awoke he vanished into the mist from whence he came
his words were true we are not free we have ourselves to blame
For even now as tyrants trample each God-given right
we only watch and tremble to afraid to stand and fight.
If he stood by your bedside in a dream while you were asleep
and he wondered what remains of the rights he fought to keep
what would be your answer if he called out from the grave Is this Still the Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave?

It’s like comparing gala apples to rome apples. They’re the same thing now. It’s time for a new party. Republicans spend just as much if not more than democrats. They all lie, lie, lie. As far as I can see Ron Paul is the only candidate for 2008 that doesn’t have a hidden agenda and isn’t bought and paid for by special interest groups. He’s the only REAL Republican left. Everyone else wants to sell you the illusion of security at the cost of liberty (and the destruction of US currency which will lead us straight into a global depression).

Mike is right, the republicans have spent us into the ground. The two Bush(s) combined have ran us up from $2 trillion to $9.7 trillion dollars in debt. That is 37,500 dollars owed by each and every american. Furthermore, American workers incomes are more diverse:
The top 1%, their AGI equates to $1,591,711,000,000, 1.5 million workers, average income > $1,000,000
The top 5%, their AGI equates to $2,683,934,000,000, 7.6 million workers, includes above, average income $ 353,149.
Top 50% of Americans, their AGI was $6,544,824,000,000, includes 76 million workers, average income - $86,116.
Bottom 50% of Americans, their AGI was 963,134,000,000, includes the other 76 million workers, average income - $12,317.
